Guild Vault Spring Cleaning

Postby Bloodreaver » Fri Feb 05, 2010 9:34 pm

We're going to be doing some cleaning and rearranging of the guild vault. That makes this a good time for me to find out what you (the guild) acutally want in the vault. Post here, send me a PM, or in game mail with your thoughts of what we should keep and what's a waste of space. Also, how should the tabs be organized, and who should have access to which tabs?

My 2c... I always look in the vault for semi-common things that I don't happen to have atm. Low level gems to fill in an empty socket on an item I just got, a certain type of crafting mat that I just need one or two or three more of to finish what I'm working on... then I end up finding stuff like a 32 slot inscription bag that I know has been sitting there for some time and hey, I just made a scribe... or tasty cupcakes and hey, I didn't get that achievement yet. Useful armor/weapons are good too, like crafted mats for the newly turned 80 (nothing too expensive, but something to help them gear up for heroics).

as for what I think shouldn't be there... well, I was just looking in there the other day for something and noticed that one of the tabs was filled with stranglethorn vale pages. There wasn't really any room left for other stuff, so I sold them all. While handy to have when leveling an alt, those things take up way too much space to be useful. After selling them, I put the money back in the vault... so thanks to whoever donated those. They were still useful to the guild, just in a different way.

and as for how the tabs should be organized... well, I was around to help with the current configuration, so it's hard for me to come up with anything better. Anyone else have any suggestions?

Yay, a response!

I did plan on removing the pages. In general, I think quest items (outside of holidays and avchievements) take up too much space. I also think that in general, crafted green items are nice but not very useful on a whole. Again, I feel there are some exceptions to that, particularly gems and glyphs.

I was hoping to get some responses on what kinds of crafting items people think belong in the vault. BC gems are useless, until someone is leveling a jewelcrafter. Raptor hide and silk cloth are also only likely to be used if someone is leveling a new toon. Also, I'm interested in what items people find most useful in Party Store and Raid Armory tabs, as both of those are a bit undefined.

Another small thought...
Yeah, there are a lot of tabs, but we're filling em up, especially the general & crafting ones.
When I'm leveling a prof, I do look in the GB for mats, so I was thinking perhaps another tab would be good, just for lower level crafting mats. They're too much of a hassle to sell, many times, but when you need em for that last point, often cost an arm and a leg.

This:

In the Window Shopping tab: please AH BoE epics while their ilvl is close to current content, if there is no interest from guild members for the items. Hanging onto them for months renders them nearly worthless, in most cases.

That's how guild banks make $. No giving them away for people's 9th alts or whatever. Sell em on the AH for big $ to strangers, and the cash gets used for raid everyone's repairs or mats for gear. I would have *loved* it if we had enough $ in the vault to buy Primordials for raid tanks and healers (and maybe dps :-P) to craft BIS gear. It massively helps progression.

And this:

For the raid armory: my understanding was that flasks, potions, elixirs, and stat food were the theme for that page. That said, I can help populate that tab some, when I have time. I would really be able to populate it with mats that I don't personally have to farm.

I would in general like to see the Vault used more for raid support. The raid armory tab, should, IMO be chock full of raid consumables. Flasks, elixirs, potions (speed, haste, ap, wild magic, armor etc) and food, lots of food, cooked or otherwise.

I'd also like to see some enchants available via scrolls (it's the best way to level skill - no more re-enchanting your own gloves 94 times) and/or mats.

No one person should be pumping all this in. But if everyone gives a little, we all win by having the supplies we need, and we all further win thus being able to dance on Arthas' rotting douche bag corpse.

I think it's fine to keep some green gear, if it's not "of the owl" or junk like that. I would suggest limiting that to level 60+ though. FC also makes a good point - it's a good idea to keep some even low level crafting mats. Some of that stuff is stupidly $ on the AH, so if there was a stack of Illusion Dust or whatever in the vault, it could help a ton.
